Dr. Shivraj Sohur
Dr. Sohur grew up in the village of Espérance Trébuchet, Mauritius and is the founder of the 5-2035 Global Foundation for Community Health.
He is a clinician in the Neurology Therapeutic Area at Alexion Pharmaceuticals in Boston, Massachusetts. He is also a part-time attending neurologist in the Department of Neurology at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and part-time faculty member at Harvard Medical School in Boston.
After completing his secondary schooling at Royal College of Port-Louis, he received his Bachelors in Chemistry and Biology at Angelo State University, San Angelo, Texas. He then completed his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee. Since 2001, Dr. Sohur has been at Harvard, completing his clinical training in Neurology with sub-specialty in Parkinson’s and other Movement Disorders.
Dr. Sohur is married to Dr. Suzanne T. Szak, who works in a bio-pharmaceutical company. They have two teenage children, Arjun and Raina. They also have a dog named Zigzag, who has the run of the house.
